Here are my cruelty-free beauty essentials that I just cannot live without. Read on to discover my favourite hair, body and skin products as well as my favourite cruelty-free perfume that you have to try!
Superdrug Extracts Shampoo & Conditioner
Having tried many of Superdrug’s own brand of hair products, the Extracts range have to be my favourite. They come in a range of flavours from Coconut & Almond, Aloe Vera & Mango as well as Grapefruit & Papaya. I always choose the Raspberry & Macadamia scent as the smell is almost edible! It leaves my hair looking shiny, healthy and smelling delicious. You only need to apply a small amount of product to your hair as the shampoo creates a lot of lather. The bottles tend to last me 5-6 weeks which is great for the bank balance and the environment too.
Eden Perfume ‘Bomb Flowers’ No.460
You’re probably thinking that ‘Bomb Flowers’ sounds suspiciously close to Victor Rolf’s Flower Bomb; that would be correct. Eden create cruelty free, all natural perfumes that smell just like the designer favourites you’d find on the high street. The ingredients used haven’t been tested on animals and the smell is replicated perfectly. What’s more, the perfume costs a fraction of the price with this sized bottle setting me back £12.00. Eden have a store in Brighton on Western Road where you can create your own scent if you wish as well as an online shop.
Superdrug Vitamin E Oatmeal Exfoliator
Superdrug’s Oatmeal exfoliator is a godsend for unblocking pores. I use this product a few times a week on my face to get rid of dead skin, eliminate blackheads and maintain the baby soft complexion I was blessed with. It is packed with natural sources of vitamin E that shield the skin against ageing, sun and environmental damage whilst keeping it hydrated and looking radiant. It be can used whilst showering or as a face mask when taking a bath.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
Batiste dry shampoo has always been a favourite, even before I was Vegan. It smells wonderful, gives those roots a boost and keep your hair looking fresh in between washes. They have a great selection tailoring to the needs for those with coloured hair, in need of a volume boost as well keeping it clean with a fruity twist. I cannot get enough of the Bare Natural and Light spray as the scent is subtle and light to use.
Treacle Moon Body Butter
If you want to smell divine then Treacle Moon Body Butter is where to go. These products have never and will never be tested on animals and are happily made in the UK. With a wide range of flavours to choose from, True Shea Love & Raspberry Kiss are my firm favourites. Shea smells so buttery it could be edible whilst the Raspberry is fresh, fragrant and fruity. Both keep your skin feeling hydrated, soft and smelling great for days.
Original Source Shower Gel
Original Source shower gels are fantastic. Having only used the brand myself in the past few years, I had always been in awe of their array of flavours from a young age. The variety on offer suits every taste; simple and fruity such as Mango or Lime, fresh and fragrant like the Strawberry and Black Peppercorn or the more obscure Lemon and Chilli. My go to’s are the Vanilla and Raspberry Milk, Mango as well the Coconut. The Mango in particular smells edible and leaves your skin feeling clean and clear.
Solait Tinted Bronzing Lotion Medium Tan
As soon as summer begins, the fake tan appears. Having pale and freckly skin means that sunbathing is a no go and neither is getting a natural tan. To get the sun kissed glow this summer, I turned to Superdrug’s Tinted Bronzing Lotion. Previously I had tried the spray alternative of the brand but had no luck with getting an even finish as this was due to the spray being clear and developing overnight. The lotion however is dark and easy to apply, setting almost instantly throughout the application. The excess layer washes off upon showering and leaves a natural looking glow to the skin. It has moisturising properties with added Sweet Almond Oil and is non-greasy leaving your skin silky smooth and smelling like a tropical island.
