For most of our lives we have been made to believe that we can only find true inner happiness through a relationship with a lover. Seeking and finding a soul mate and creating a relationship that is everlasting was always seen as a key to success. Divorce meant you had failed and the short-lived relationships … Continue reading True Enlightenment & Love
Not so long ago, you would have caught me saying 'I am terrified of dying'. Terrified of losing others. Wondering when my luck will truly run out and I will be faced with life threatening and life changing consequences. I'd often find myself asking a lot of questions: What if I never find true happiness? … Continue reading “Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” — Eckhart Tolle
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” – Leo Buscaglia A Motivational Monday post about accepting your worries as passing thoughts and living in the present moment.
Just like the sea, inspiration drifts in waves. There are times when the tide creeps in unexpectedly, slowly but surely lapping at the dry sand, building up a momentum with steady flow. As I am one of the only few to admit it, I was a huge fan of Elizabeth Gilbert's best selling memoir, 'Eat Pray Love'. I was gripped by her dedicated search to find out who she was, spanning the globe to indulge in food, find inner peace and fall in love once more. Having become deeply attached to her writing style and the ability to relate to her experiences, I knew I had to stay true to this talented author.
Not many people in their lifetime have the honour to witness the Dalai Lama speaking publicly. I, being one of them, did not believe that I would stumble across the opportunity nor witness His Holiness speak earlier this month. I chose to attend independently, purely for the benefit of my own spiritual journey and to avoid pressuring another into reluctantly … Continue reading The Dalai Lama’s talk on Compassion: The Foundation of Well-Being
