True Enlightenment & Love

For most of our lives we have been made to believe that we can only find true inner happiness through a relationship with a lover. Seeking and finding a soul mate and creating a relationship that is everlasting was always seen as a key to success. Divorce meant you had failed and the short-lived relationships … Continue reading True Enlightenment & Love

“Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” — Eckhart Tolle

Not so long ago, you would have caught me saying 'I am terrified of dying'. Terrified of losing others. Wondering when my luck will truly run out and I will be faced with life threatening and life changing consequences. I'd often find myself asking a lot of questions: What if I never find true happiness? … Continue reading “Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.” — Eckhart Tolle

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf”

Just like the sea, inspiration drifts in waves. There are times when the tide creeps in unexpectedly, slowly but surely lapping at the dry sand, building up a momentum with steady flow. On those days we see progression, ideas flowing in a natural manner, gracefully towards us, the potential washing around our ankles. We take our pick, segregate … Continue reading “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf”

‘I can’t tell you the key to success, but they key to failure is trying to please everyone’

We continually seek acceptance from everybody other than ourselves. 'Care about what other people think and you'll always be their prisoner' If we do not begin with self-acceptance then we sure won't end with it. If we cannot see our true worth, respect our core values and live accordingly, then we are bound to fail.

‘Happiness is not something that you postpone for the future, it is something you design for the present.’

Happiness is a state of mind. A way of being. It is about our perspective and outlook on life, be that positive or negative. We have a choice to see the beauty or flaws in the everyday, light or darkness in times of struggle or show love or hate towards others. We can either count our blessings or our problems, express gratitude for what we do have or mourn for what we do not. We can accept the present or fight it.

‘What You Do Today Can Improve All Of Your Tomorrows’

There is no better way to begin the week than with a Motivational Monday post. This will be the start of many, a way to kickstart my week with positive vibes and get my creativity flowing. Today's quote is particularly important, one I have seen and read many times before but mostly chose to ignore. It has … Continue reading ‘What You Do Today Can Improve All Of Your Tomorrows’

‘A True Soul Mate Is A Mirror’

'People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.'  It's true, society has led us to … Continue reading ‘A True Soul Mate Is A Mirror’

Creative Lessons From Elizabeth Gilbert’s ‘Big Magic’

As I am one of the only few to admit it, I was a huge fan of Elizabeth Gilbert's best selling memoir, 'Eat Pray Love'. I was gripped by her dedicated search to find out who she was, spanning the globe to indulge in food, find inner peace and fall in love once more. Having become deeply attached to her writing style and the ability to relate to her experiences, I knew I had to stay true to this talented author.

The Dalai Lama’s talk on Compassion: The Foundation of Well-Being

Not many people in their lifetime have the honour to witness the Dalai Lama speaking publicly. I, being one of them, did not believe that I would stumble across the opportunity nor witness His Holiness speak earlier this month. I chose to attend independently, purely for the benefit of my own spiritual journey and to avoid pressuring another into reluctantly … Continue reading The Dalai Lama’s talk on Compassion: The Foundation of Well-Being
